Everything you need to know about Xbox Game Pass

Fans of the Microsoft console can hardly get around the Xbox Game Pass. But how does the service work exactly, how much does it cost, and which games can be played with it?

In June 2017, Microsoft launched the Xbox Game Pass subscription service for its Xbox console. It gives users access to various games and extra content. In this article, you’ll learn everything about how Game Pass works, pricing models, and game content.

How does the Xbox Game Pass work?

With the Game Pass, players get access to a variety of games. These can then be played on all Xbox models as well as the PC. Those who have purchased access can then use the media library to download and play titles. In addition, points can be collected via Game Pass Quest within the bonus program and used for rewards such as Xbox credit. To do this, players must master challenges within the available games.

In addition to an Xbox, a Microsoft account is also required. This account can then also be used for other Microsoft services such as the Office package or the authentication app. PC players must also download the Xbox app.

In the video, we explain what can be done with Xbox GamePass:

Xbox Game Pass vs. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

The normal Xbox Game Pass is more or less the basic version of the service. It gives subscribers access to over 100 titles. Plus, instant access to studio-owned titles, right after release. Special offers and discounts for members also already apply to the basic rate, which must be booked separately for each medium, PC or console.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the next level up in Microsoft’s subscription model. Users get access to the same content as in the basic version, and the offer is then also directly valid for both PC and console. A so-called “Xbox live Gold” membership is also included. In addition, there are additional discounts, DLCs and also in-game materials for subscribers of the Ultimate version.
