Newly unveiled game trailers for the PlayStation 5.
Developer studio Insomniac Games unveiled the first teaser trailer for Wolverine at the showcase. The trailer shows Logan, better known as Wolverine, in a completely stripped down bar. While he’s enjoying a shot of high-proof liquor at the bar, a thug gets up behind him and pulls out a knife. After that, we only see Wolverine extending his famous adamantium claws – that’s where the teaser ends. Unfortunately, there is no launch date, so we can look forward to more information.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Also from Insomniac comes the sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man, which was still released for the PlayStation 4 in 2018. The reveal trailer shows video footage taken directly from the PS5. Among others, Venom and Miles Morales can be seen in it, who just last year got his own Spider-Man game for PS5 and PS4. The launch date has now finally been announced in the showcase, though. However, fans will have to be patient for a while – the release is set for 2023.
God of War Ragnarok
With the reveal trailer at the showcase, the next God of War title now has an official name: Ragnarok. The trailer shows Kratos and his son, Atreus. Both of them have grown a bit older since the previous game, and Atreus is currently in a difficult “teen phase”. They have to prevent Ragnarok – that is, the end of the world in Norse mythology. Among other things, Thor can be seen with his hammer Mjölnir and a whole series of gameplay scenes that show God-of-War-typical carnage. There is no launch date, but the release is planned for both PS5 and PS4.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
The game Project Eve from the Korean studio Shift Up has received a longer, first trailer. The setting: a post-apocalyptic Earth. The goal: to save humanity. The protagonist has to fight mutants – or aliens? – who have all kinds of things for heads besides tentacles, chainsaws and baby faces. The game is scheduled to be released for PS5, PS4, PC and Xbox, a date is not known.
Rainbow Six Extraction
The next title in the Rainbow Six series has been given a new launch date, having already been delayed and renamed twice. Rainbow Six Extraction is scheduled for release on January 22, 2022.
Forspoken from developer Square Enix has gotten a trailer that narrows down the launch date to Spring 2022. The PS5 exclusive title is set in a medieval fantasy world after the protagonist falls through some sort of portal in New York City. Judging by the trailer, magic plays a central role in the combat mechanics and even flying seems to be a possibility.
Honestly, we don’t really know what’s going on in Ghostwire: Tokyo. A mysterious, deadly mist that turns people into ghosts only hits the protagonist in the face. The affected half of his face then seems to dissolve and suddenly enemies appear without heads, with umbrellas and as hanging fabric ghosts. Sounds wacky, but it looks exciting. The game starts in spring 2022.
Deathloop will already be released next week, on September 14. Nevertheless, the game got a final “story” trailer at the showcase, which explores the backstory. At launch, it’s coming to PS5 and PC.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Tchia is an adventure game with cartoon graphics set in a tropical setting. You seem to be able to take on the role of animals and objects, including seagulls and turtles. Beach walks and sunsets included.
Gran Turismo 7
Racing classic Gran Turismo enters its seventh round. The trailer shows off cars, maps, tracks and car parts that players can expect. Gran Turismo 7 launches on PS5 and PS4 on March 4, 2022.
Bloodhunt is a battle royale title set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. It was already presented for the PC, and now the launch has also been announced for the PS5 still for 2021.
Kid A Mnesia Exhibition
The teaser trailer for Kid A Mnesia Exhibition is not only mysterious, but also so short that we have no idea what to expect. Scribbled drawing and pictures on the wall suggest a horror scenario. We’ll know more soon, as the collaboration between Radiohead and Epic Games is supposed to be released for the PS5 in November.

PS5 ports, remakes and remasters
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake for PS5
KOTOR fans can be excited, because the Star Wars classic from 2003 (!) is getting a remake for the PlayStation 5. The showcase trailer shows the Sith Lord Revan with his lightsaber – but that’s it. The short sequence ends with the words “A Legend Remade For PS5”. We are looking forward to more information and gameplay about the remake.
Uncharted: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy for PS5 and PC
Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series already has cult status among many. For the PS5, the developer is combining the fourth part of the series, A Thief’s End, and the spin-off Lost Legacy into the Legacy of Thieves Collection. Both games will be remastered for the new console. But that’s not all. Although the Uncharted series has been an exclusive mainstay for the PlayStation for years, the Legacy of Thieves Collection is also slated for release on PC – a welcome surprise. Both PS5 and PC versions are scheduled for release in early 2022.
Alan Wake Remastered
The innovative thriller game Alan Wake is now eleven years old, which is why Epic Games has already announced a remaster. The game received a lot of positive criticism for its gripping atmosphere. The new trailer shows revamped gameplay and improved graphics that make Alan Wake ready for the new console generation. The remaster is scheduled for release this fall for PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC.
Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online
Despite being eight years in the making, GTA V and its multiplayer offshoot GTA Online are still among the most played titles on the market. Rockstar had announced revised versions of the games for November 2021. The date has now been pushed back to March 22, 2022. Players can expect improved gameplay and upgraded graphics.
