After the free PlayStation games for June were leaked in advance, as in previous months, they are now confirmed and available. Accordingly, there are three games again for PlayStation Plus subscribers. So, if you have a PS Plus subscription, you can download the titles for free starting June 07.
The free PlayStation Plus games in June 2022.
In June, PS Plus subscribers can once again enjoy three titles, including a real blockbuster. But what are the games good for? atechbook has summarized reviews and player ratings.
God of War (2018)
The plot of this mythical action-adventure game follows the popular “God of War III” (2010), although this game focuses mainly on the Norse mythical world, not the Greek one. Protagonist Kratos has ended up in Midgard after his campaign of revenge against the gods of Olympus. After the death of his wife, he sets out on an adventurous journey with his son Atreus.
The new setting was well received by players and critics alike. Going by the ratings on Metacritic, God of War (2018) is even the best-rated game in the series with a score of 94, with particular praise for the customized battle system that integrates Kratos’ son with bow and arrow well, as well as the visuals and graphical performance. At the Game Awards 2018, the game won in the Game of the Year category. Normally, players would have to pay 19.99 Euros for the gaming fun, so the free PS Plus offer from June is worth it. However, only if you didn’t get the game anyway as part of the PS5 Collection or the upgrade to one of the new subscription models.
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
In this multiplayer online game, players compete against each other in groups of 4. There isn’t really a storyline, it’s all about fighting first and foremost as well as the various mechanics. For success, you should know your shinobi (character) and its jutsus (techniques) well.
The game from the popular “Naruto” universe received mixed reviews. While critics criticize the lack of ingenuity and the resulting monotony, the action game is quite well received by gamers. In any case, those looking for entertaining diversion could have a lot of PvP fun with the title.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
Based on the popular Smash series, in which well-known gaming characters punch each other in the face, Nickelodeon characters then compete against each other in this game. Nickelodeon teamed up with indie publisher GameMill Entertainment to develop its fun, colorful fighting game. Spongebob Squarepants, Aang as well as Lincoln Loud are a few of the characters available.
The reviews are partly far apart. While some are simply happy about a brawler game with the heroes of their childhood, others criticize that a different universe was simply put on top of the proven Smash Brothers mechanics.
PlayStation Plus Collection free for PS5 customers
Since the PlayStation 5 has been available since the end of 2020, the currently offered PS Plus games also apply to the new console. However, Sony is taking things up a notch and giving all PS5 buyers the Plus Collection with a whole 20 games, including some smash hits.
The collection is supposed to be a basis for owners of the new console, for which there are not very many new titles yet. The games are available for free download and can be played as long as PS Plus is subscribed.
