The gaming year 2021 is coming to an end. Gamers had to experience one or two disappointments. These are the ten worst PC and video games.
The renowned rating platform “Metacritic” from the USA has now published the list with the worst PC and video games in 2021. The assessments come from experienced game critics who regularly publish reviews on the platform. In order to appear in the ranking, there must be at least seven reviews from the professionals. This means that many small games are already eliminated. Rather, prominent flops are found in the ranking.
Konamis tops the worst PC and video games.
The list on Metacritic looks like this:
- eFootball 2022 (PC): 25
- Balan Wonderworld (Switch): 36
- Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood (PS4): 42
- Cab Chaos (PS4): 42
- Of Bird and Cage (PC): 44
- Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition (Switch): 47
- I Saw Black Clouds (PS4): 48.
- Arkham Horror: Mother’s Embrace (PC): 48
- Demon Skin (PC): 48
- Necromunda: Hired Gun (PS4): 49
By far the worst game of 2021 according to Metacritic is “eFootball 2022” for the PC. The soccer simulation from Konami is the successor to the once glorious “Pro Evolution Soccer” series. Particularly in the 2000s, this series was superior to the FIFA series in terms of gameplay and sold magnificently. In the 10s, FIFA improved the gameplay and secured a virtual monopoly on soccer games thanks to its licenses. While the new edition of FIFA has been the best-selling game of the respective year for years, the former competitor has now probably reached the bottom.
“eFootball 2022” is a free-to-play title, which means it’s a free game that was unfortunately riddled with bugs. In addition, problems with the graphics, gameplay and content earned the game an overall score of just 25 out of a possible 100 points.
Also interesting: Patent pending! Is this what a new PlayStation controller looks like?
GTA also among the worst games of the year
On paper, ” Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition ” is rather one of the best games of the year. At least that’s what you might think! The game was released in mid-November for all consoles and PC and combines remastered versions of the cult titles “Grand Theft Auto III”, “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas”. Actually a safe bet for developer “Rockstar Games”. However, poor graphics and many bugs spoiled the game for gamers. The version for the Nintendo Switch was the worst.
