The first customers will hold their new iPhone 13 models in their hands on September 24. Those who have not yet ordered, better not do so at Apple.
For many iPhone users, it was immediately clear after the presentation of the 13 model that they would buy it. Accordingly, some pre-orders have probably already been received by Apple and other retailers. But what about all those who only want to order now, i.e. when the smartphones are already on the market? Are there even enough devices left? A look at the retailers’ delivery times provides some information.
Apple with long delivery times
The first port of call for many prospective buyers is likely to be Apple’s online store. Users can easily configure their iPhone 13 on the company’s website and order it directly. Many seem to have already done so in advance, because Apple’s warehouses seem to be anything but full. At least that’s what the delivery times suggest.
Delivery times for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini
The iPhone 13 will be available for delivery from October 12, 2021 at the earliest if ordered at this point in time and should arrive at home on October 19 at the latest according to the current status. Alternatively, interested buyers with access to an Apple Store can also pick up the devices there. However, everyone has to check that individually. For example, there are still devices available at the big Apple Store on Berlin’s Ku’Damm. But that can change quickly in the days after the sales launch!
The delivery window for the iPhone 13 mini is basically the same as for the iPhone 13, but Apple currently offers some variants that can be delivered a week earlier.
iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max apparently sold out
The situation currently looks somewhat worse for the Pro and Pro Max models on Apple’s website. These may not be delivered until November and they are no longer available at the store in Berlin.
Conclusion about the delivery times at Apple
All in all, you can hardly get an iPhone in less than three weeks at apple.de. For the Pro models, it takes even longer. That is already very unsatisfactory on the official release day. It remains to be seen whether the situation will worsen in the coming days. There has been a certain pre-order pressure on iPhones for a long time. That is a pity because customers often want to at least wait for first experience reports before they invest a lot of money. We therefore do not recommend ordering the Pro models in particular – unless you do not have a problem waiting.

Alternatives to ordering from Apple
Many electronics retailers and mobile phone providers still have iPhone 13 contingents left. It’s worth keeping an eye out at Media Markt, Saturn, O2, Telekom and the like. At Media Markt, for example, delivery is said to take just one week.
